Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she earned an Emmy Award. She is also known for her roles in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. As a young girl, she wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. However, in high school the time came when she began modeling commercials, she moved to New York.
